Our Venue Hire team at the Royal College of Music are passionate about creating memorable events, and it all starts with finding the perfect venue. Each of our ten spaces offers something unique, with breath-taking design, versatile functionality, and state-of-the-art acoustics. With so many great options, we understand it can be overwhelming to choose! So, to inspire you, we’ve asked our team to share their favourite RCM venue and the event they’d host if they were booking the space. Here’s what they had to say…

Vicky, our Head of Events and Corporate Partnerships, would love to host an exclusive dinner in the Museum, featuring a curator-led, behind-the-scenes tour of the archive. She’d take full advantage of the exceptional temporary exhibition, with a drinks reception on the mezzanine and plenty of time to mingle, before an intimate and elegant dinner downstairs, provided by one of our listed suppliers.

About the Venue

The Royal College of Music Museum opened in 2021 and houses over 14,000 music-related objects spanning five centuries, including the earliest known guitar. This multi-level, fully accessible space also offers expert-led tours for an interesting and educational experience.

Why I Love It

The Museum is a unique space full of rare musical treasures. It is a flexible, modern and elegant venue, making it the perfect setting for unforgettable events.

The RCM Museum is perfect for intimate dinners (10 guests), drinks receptions (60), and small, bespoke concerts (10).

Our experienced Events Manager Eimear’s favourite venue is the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall, for its incredible flexibility. Its beautiful and adaptable design makes it perfect for hosting a conference during the day, a dinner in the evening, and then a full orchestra concert the next day!

If she were planning an event there, it would be a dinner and drinks reception. Guests would start with welcome drinks in the RCM Café, enjoying some outdoor space in The 1851 Courtyard before moving into the Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall for a seated meal, catered by one of our incredible approved suppliers. Naturally, her evening would include live entertainment from world-class RCM musicians, with a pianist performing on stage during the meal and a harpist in the Café to set the tone on arrival.

Why I Love It

The Concert Hall features historic charm, natural light, and exceptional acoustics – not to mention the stunning Flentrop Orgelbouw organ which forms the stage’s backdrop!

The Amaryllis Fleming Concert Hall is perfect for performances (up to 372 guests), dinners (160), drinks receptions (280), and conferences (280).

Stella, our excellent Events Coordinator, would love to host a musical production in the Britten Theatre. She would make sure to use the orchestra pit, ideal for musicals and operas, and the dressing rooms, which feature lit-up mirrors for a touch of glamour backstage. To make the event truly unforgettable, Stella would hire our skilled lighting and sound teams for flawless execution.

About the Venue

Designed in the style of an Italian opera house, the Britten Theatre offers exceptional acoustics, a 390-seat auditorium, and advanced technical facilities. It is a versatile venue, perfect for opera, music, theatre, and ballet, as well as lectures, conferences, and presentations.

Why I Love It

The Britten Theatre’s auditorium is wonderfully intimate and comfortable, despite its large capacity. Its elegant design and exceptional technical facilities, all supported by RCM’s skilled studio and lighting teams, make it a truly unique space.

The Britten Theatre is perfect for performances, conferences, seminars, filming, and podcast recordings (390 guests).

Verity, our Events Administrative Officer, loves the Parry Rooms and sees them as the perfect setting for a team away day. She would start the day in the East Parry with vision talks and sub-team sharing, before a buffet lunch in the Inner Parry, catered by one of our brilliant catering suppliers. A talented RCM jazz trio would provide background music during lunch, with the West Parry serving as a practical catering space. Then, Verity would make full use of the interconnecting doors, opening them to transform the space into a large room ideal for an afternoon of team-building exercises.

About the Venue

The three wood-panelled Parry Rooms have a timeless charm and are very versatile, with soundproof interconnecting doors facilitating separate activities or use as one gallery space.

Why I Love It

The interconnecting rooms offer incredible flexibility, and the wood panelling and organ are beautiful. They are rich in history, named after composer and previous RCM Director Hubert Parry (1848-1918), and boast excellent acoustics and beautiful views of the Royal Albert Hall.

The Parry Rooms are perfect for drinks receptions (120 guests), private dinners (90), intimate concerts (100), and talks, conferences, and team away days.
